B+S: Progress

I've had a gigantic soft spot for anything designed by Hyung Tae Kim since I first discovered who he was, but always felt that it was a little beyond my reach as a cosplayer up until recently.

I've been following the development of his newest big project, Blade & Soul, since before most of the concept art was even released (the game STILL isn't out...grumble), and fell in love with a few different armor sets as I ran into them. My choice to create this particular set first came from wanting to sort of ease into the water (well, as much as you can with anything he's designed) and build my skills for a certain dream costume of mine. Plus, it's just a gorgeous design that I just have to try my hand at.

This is my pattern template so far for the armor pieces of the costume. I worked on this for a couple days just to get a feel for the overall aesthetic and to figure out proportions and such. I can't wait to actually start in with the actual material I'll be using!

Quick explanation of what's what:
-Top left is the top portion of the glove on the right hand.
-Bottom left is attached to the dress itself.
-Top right is an armband.
-Bottom right is a wrist cuff which once I use the true material will be a little more close confined to my arm.
